The Retail Benefits Group (RBG) is an independent association of large U.S. retailers whose purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information concerning employee benefit plans.
The Group strives to help the member companies to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of their benefit plans, comply with applicable laws, educate themselves on issues affecting human resources and employee benefits of retailers, and address legislation affecting employee benefit plans.
One of our key initiatives is conducting extensive research among large retailer organizations to generate reliable benchmarking data and trend analysis.
Considered the most customized retail benefits survey in the industry!
Each year Gallagher works with The RBG Executive Leadership Committee with membership input to develop the survey questionnaire.
The survey is launched in early spring of each year. Each individual data submission will be verified by our analysts and within our computer programs for validity. If necessary Gallagher will follow up with participants to ensure all submitted data is accurate. The data will then be compiled into a fully aggregated survey report.
Gallagher has the ability to include a comparison to our national data as well as the overall retail industry specific data contained within our national benefits survey. Exclusive to members only, the final survey reports will then be released in both PDF and Excel formats with commentary on insights and observations in June.
Another benefit of RBG membership is the twenty four (24) mini surveys per year.
The surveys will consist of five (5) questions or less. The requesting organization will email their suggested survey questions to Gallagher who will create an online survey form which will be emailed to the group members within five business days with instructions and deadlines for completion.
Once the survey has closed, Gallagher will aggregate the results and distribute the report to the participating organizations within 5 business days (this timeline may be expanded if further follow up or data validation is required). Only aggregated data will be shared and all reporting will comply with DOJ guidelines.
The Annual Benefits Conference is a member only event. New members joining The RBG any time prior to the conference are welcome to attend. It will be in person in June. The event will be held at a central location, for easy access by members.
This event brings together Retail Industry leaders from around the country to accelerate your knowledge of the programs, strategies and tools central to attracting and retaining employees in today’s tight RETAIL labor market.
The event will feature national speakers on relevant topics, as well as ample time to network amongst your peers, and have a little fun. The only cost for this conference is your travel and lodging. All other costs and entertainment are included in The RBG annual membership fee.
Driven by member request, we hold bi-monthly virtual workshops to meet the needs of members requiring quick access to topical information and insights. Examples of a past workshop was a discussion around the “Possible Elimination of Roe vs Wade” moderated by a compliance attorney and “GLP-1s, The Flood Gates Have Opened” moderated by a PhamD.
While we schedule these sessions every other month, there is no limit on the number of workshops throughout the year.
To be eligible for initial membership in the Group, a corporation, partnership, association, or individual at minimum must (i) engage primarily in the business of retail sales, and (ii) employ at least 3,000 employees that work 30+ hours per week.
The annual membership fee is $2,500.
As needed, The RBG engages with law firms that supports the management of antitrust guidelines.
An additional annual fee may be required for legal fees and will be shared by the members and is billed directly from the law firm to each member firm.
